The Harloff Company was started in 1951 when our founder, Norman Harloff, designed and built the first hotel housekeeping cart. This cart became a great success and an industry standard. Harloff then expanded its product line in the Hospitality and Janitorial field, offering a broad array of specialized carts known for their high quality and economical pricing. In 1986 the company was sold to its present ownership.
In 1987 Harloff expanded into the healthcare market by introducing our own line of crash carts, medication carts and other specialty carts for hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and surgery centers. Harloff was the first maker of emergency carts to offer a product designed from the ground up. This design incorporated the ability to offer custom configurations with interchangeable drawers. Harloff was also the first emergency cart maker to use ball-bearing drawer slides. The Harloff medical cart line is recognized as the highest quality available, offering competitive pricing, extensive standard and custom accessories, and rapid order turnaround.
Beginning in 1990, Harloff also developed a robust line of specialized carts for off-site transport of computer backup tapes. These carts now offer flexible shelving and optional mylar-covered foam for extra protection. Harloff Media carts have a reputation for durability and our extensive selection of models accommodates all commonly used tape storage packs.
By 2001 Harloff had become an OEM cart supplier for a major manufacturer of automotive service equipment. Using the experience gained, Harloff began expanding its capabilities into a variety of Mobile Technology Workstations®, utility carts, and custom products for protecting and moving computerized testing and training equipment and related gear for shop and industrial use. Harloff has products approved by the major American Auto Companies for their dealer programs.
In 2001 Harloff discontinued its Hotel Sales division and consolidated its Hotel product operations at Forbes Industries, Ontario, California. All Harloff-brand hotel products are now marketed and built by Forbes.
This has enabled Harloff to focus its marketing, production, and product development on the Medical, Media Transport, Automotive, and Specialty Product lines. This focus has led to a revitalization of our business and customer relations.
Recently introduced products include our Magnetic Resonance safe Anesthesia and Emergency Carts, Malignant Hyperthermia Cart, Service Desks and Podiums, Narcotics Cabinets, and Medication Distribution Carts.
Harloff builds its products at our Colorado Springs facility. Our principal sales network is through the top National and Regional distributors for our respective markets.
The Harloff story starts with a 54 year history of quality products, service, and delivery. Our team is committed to maintaining and growing this legacy.
