Typical breakaway bars extend the drawer height of a cart’s body with all drawers secured by a single plastic seal. Although effective for most medical facilities, once a lock is broken all drawer contents must be checked or restocked even if they were not used. Some medical facilities may find a split breakaway bar to be a more effective solution, as you can restrict usage and verification of cart contents to only those drawers (or groups of drawers) used in any emergency.
Harloff is able to split your crash cart breakaway locks and manufacture them in any drawer combination that works best for your facility. With vertical bar heights as short as 3″ and as tall as 27″, you can select the bar combination that works for you within the maximum vertical drawer height of your M-Series or A-Series crash cart. When purchasing, you will need to individually order each breakaway lock bar that you want and our sales team will work with you to make sure that your selected combination matches the drawer configuration you’re looking for. As with our standard crash cart breakaway locks, each bar comes with a metal eyelet for inserting a numbered plastic seal and a handle for opening the seals with a sharp pull during emergencies. Because components of each split breakaway lock bar must be welded to the cart body, this item is factory install only. Split your crash cart breakaway lock into multiple sections for more control over drawer access and restocking. Breakaway lock bars can be split into segments as short as 3″ high or as high as 27″ high, and each segment has it’s own eyelet for securing with a numbered plastic seal. Just make sure that the total of all segments matches your cart’s vertical drawer height to ensure full drawer coverage. Factory install only.
• Split breakaway locking bars can be purchase in the following heights: 3", 6", 9", 12", 15", 18", 21", 24" and 27".
• Purchase enough breakaway bars to match the vertical drawer height of your cart, unless you want some drawers to remain unlocked. EXAMPLE: You are purchasing a MDS3030B06 and you want a separate locking bar for the top three drawers and for the bottom three drawers. The top four drawers have a 3-3-3 configuration and the bottom two drawers have a 6-6-9 configuration. You will need to purchase one 9" split breakaway lock bar (BAMULTI-9) for the top and one 21" split breakaway lock bar (BAMULTI-21) for the bottom. This adds up to a total vertical drawer height of 30" which covers all of your cart drawers.
